Heathcote Health is a leading small rural health service located 90 minutes north of Melbourne via the Northern Highway, and 40 minutes south-east of Bendigo via the McIvor Highway. We are a 9-bed public facility which provides public and private acute care, 24 hour urgent care, district nursing, and a broad range of community and home-based services. Heathcote Health also has a 42-bed residential aged care facility.
Our catchment provides services to the Heathcote community and its surroundings. Heathcote Health is one of the largest employer in Heathcote with over 200 staff caring for our community.

Heathcote Health Urgent Care Centre
24 hours per day / 7 days per week
Providing care when it’s urgent, but not an emergency.
There is no GP coverage from Wednesday 24th December 2025 – Monday 5th January 2026.
Heathcote Health will continue to provide Urgent Care services to our community during this time.
We have access to our highly skilled nurse practitioners and the use of the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) to cover your care needs.
Our skilled Nursing staff will triage and assess you on arrival and you will be seen based in accordance with the Australasian Triage Scale.
The Urgent Care Centre does not replace usual appointments with your regular GP.
